borgiacest + completely platonic siblings
I’m going to start re-watching Supernatural from season one to this current season. On a scale of making deals with Crowley to trusting Metatron, how much of a bad idea is this?
A shout out to Dracula NBC’s Lucrezia Borgia reference!
Clint Barton/Hawkeye: Dispersed [x]
I think Loki deserves a round of applause.
I’ve got a Ancient Egypt paperwork that’s due tomorrow, and I’m just doing it today because I procrastinated for the last month, so now I’m just bullshitting my way through a paperwork because that’s what I do best, apparently.
[MYTHOLOGY MEME] 3/3 Magic Users - Isis
Isis is a goddess in Ancient Egyptian religious beliefs, whose worship spread throughout the Greco-Roman world. She was worshipped as the ideal mother and wife as well as the patroness of nature and magic. She was the friend of slaves, sinners, artisans, the downtrodden, but she also listened to the prayers of the wealthy, maidens, aristocrats, and rulers. Isis is also known as protector of the dead and goddess of children.
Isis was instrumental in the resurrection of Osiris when he was murdered by Set. Using her magical skills, she restored his body to life after having gathered the body parts that had been strewn about the earth by Set.
It was said that Isis tricked Ra into telling her his “secret name,” by causing a snake to bite him, for which only Isis had the cure. The use of secret names became central in many late Egyptian magic spells. By the late Egyptian historical period, after the occupations by the Greeks and the Romans, Isis became the most important and most powerful deity of the Egyptian pantheon because of her magical skills. Magic is central to the entire mythology of Isis, arguably more so than any other Egyptian deity. [x]
